R1000 new account campaign myth.

I didn't mean to complain about this but I think it is time to do so. I opened a clothing account with Woolworth because of the new member campaign of R1000 voucher which I inquired about before opening the account and I was rest assured that yes it will be app****. When I collected the card I asked the store about the criteria and they told me that if I use R2000 upon activating the app the R1000 voucher will be app**** the next Wednesday. 3 weeks later I called and I was told that I will receive an email informing me of the voucher. Till now I do not know if that campaign is lies or not.
