Putrid Service
I recently bought a pair of shoes on 23rd of February 2024 at Key West Woolworth - Krugersdorp, which I had tried them on, and they seemed a perfect fit.
I wore them the next day on the 24th of February 2024, but they were not a perfect fit then I realized the previous day I had a thick sock with safety boots and that’s the reason they seemed to fit perfectly fine.
On Tuesday 27 February I took them back to the store with the original slip, I was assisted by a lady named Seanokeng who then called a lady who was very rude, arrogant and very tribalist, I think she is an Assistant Manager or something, the said lady lacked TCF, refused to engage nor to acknowledged I’m still within the grace period of 60 days to return the goods bought after I had explained to her that I only wore the shoes once as I only noticed they were coming out as I walked when I was at my dad’s funeral. I explained to her the reason I did not see they were not perfect fit or right size was the result of the thick socks I had when I tried them but when I had thin or normal sock it’s when I realized, they were coming out when I walked, and I only wore them only on the day of my dad’s funeral. I initially took the right size and left it with the security personnel that assisted me with the return slip.
I tried to reason with the lady but she would not budge, I tried to explain to the lady there was no way I could have known the shoes were not right size without actually wearing them and I also tried to put it across to her there was no way I could attend my dad’s funeral without the black shoes which I bought them solely for my dad’s funeral but her response was very putrid in that it lacked human element, sensitive, empathy nor sympathy for her to say she couldn’t careless whose funeral was it.
All I need is for the shoes to be exchanged for the right size not a refund and for the said lady to be trained/taught on how to deal with customers with dignity, respect, humanity and most importantly on how to apply personal touch when engaging with clients’ irrespective of ethnicity, greed, race, tradition etc. She may be a Zulu/Xhosa but that does not mean she has to be a tribalist and does not mean she is superior to me.
Putrid Service is all I received. I have even lodged a formal Complaint with Woolworth and no contact was made with me.
