Promise made resulted in a financial loss.

On Friday the 9th of December 2016 I made an application for a personal loan @ Woolworths on their website. Instead of taking 48 hours life it states on the website this loan process was only finalized today this morning @ about 9:00. During the week about 2 people called me requesting for certain documents and some info. I emailed the documents as requested and gave the info... I waited patiently. Finally today I got a call from some lady. She said we need to finalize the contract so that payment can be made to my account within the 24 hrs. We did that and she also confirmed my details once more and where the money should be paid to. Over and above that she did some security questions. At some point in our conversation I said to her that there were 2 other people who called me they asked me the same questions she was asking, she then rep**** that it is Woolworth’s process. She further advised that the gentleman who called me on Tuesday was from their insurance department and she is from another department and we need to finalize the contract, she will take me through it step by step so that I fully understand the terms and conditions... She concluded our conversation and advised me that all is fine now and the funds will be deposited into my account within 24hrs. We agreed on the terms of the loan, the duration of the contract, the insurance covering the loan, the instalment amount, debit order date as well as the total loan amount, I was happy and grateful. Based on this recorded conversation and a promise made, I then went ahead and covered other commitments on the basis that I am getting this loan from Woolworths. Around 10:04 I get an SMS saying the application was unsuccessful. What went wrong and how can they make a promise to me and an hour later go back on their word? I have already committed to something else because I was getting these funds, what do I do now????????????
