Poor service
I had an issue which was very poorly managed by staff.
I purchased some items which were marked "Buy 3, pay for 2". When I looked at the receipt to verify that this was registered correctly, I saw that it wasn't. When I queried this, I was asked the cashier why I didn't tell her about, which I think is absurd.
The cashier then calls over her supervisor who treats me I like cannot read or do not know what I purchased. She eventually, albeit reluctantly walked down the aisle with me where I pointed out the sign.
She then walked back and starts doing something, not communicating for a second what is going on. I then added that I'm not sure how this would work as the Woolworths policy is that if something is scanned incorrectly at point of sale, that the customer is not charged for this item. She then proceeded to explain that this is what she was doing, but she had incorrectly refunded me for one of three items. When I brought this error to her attention, she then processed another refund for the remaining two items.
My issues are as follows: While I fully expect staff to verify my claims of this, they should carry this out in a professional manner, not begrudgingly as in my case. It was almost as if they were being asked to give up their own money.
Secondly, staff need to communicate to customers. I was completely unaware that my issue was being attended to, and what was being done to remedy the situation.
This is not the first instance whereby Woolworths staff have begrudgingly performed the appropriate changes to the till slip. Please train your staff to always be professional, courteous, polite and communicative.
