Poor Quality of Cake

We bought a vanilla sponge cake from Woolworths Food - Boksruin yesterday and the quality of cake was really bad.<br> The icing tasted off and the sponge was hard.<br> Expiry date stated 08/10/2015 but was not fresh as all.
