Poor quality!

I received a top as a birthday gift from woolworths in June this year, not even 2 months later and the stitching of the top has perished leaving a hole! Upon taking the top back I have been told that unless I have the slip I can only get the sale amount back. Firstly who asks a person for the slip of a birthday gift (I find this extremely rude) and who keeps a slip for 2 months. I do not expect such poor quality of clothing from Woolworths especially when we pay such astronomical prices!
