Poor Hygiene and Safety Precautions at Cedar Square Woolworths.
Two Saturdays ago, we shopped at Woolworths Cedar Square. We were absolutely appalled by the amount of staff members not wearing facemasks or face visors correctly. Most of them had their masks only covering their mouths. Their visors were also pushed up.
Even the person serving hot takeaway coffee was wearing her visor right up and mask only covering her mouth. I mentioned it quietly to her as I was concerned because she was serving a family with two young children. We were intending on ordering coffee as well but were put off by the lack of hygiene and attitude to match.
I asked to speak to the Manager who was unpacking crockery and noticed his mask was all the way down. He hurriedly covered up and when I mentioned the coffee person he rushed off without saying anything. After a while he returned saying that the person was wearing the mask.
I rep**** that she was only wearing it properly because I had already spoken to her. He did not apologise or offer any kind of reassurance that this situation would not occur again.
After the President last night announced that restaurants may reopen, Woolworths Head Office needs to do something about the way hygiene and safety of customers is managed at Cedar Square Woolworths.
Last Saturday, we decided to shop at Broadacres Woolworths. There we could not see any staff member with their masks down or being unsafe. Therefore the problem lies at the feet of Cedar Square Woolworths Management, as that person clearly is setting a very poor example for the rest of the staff.
