Poor customer information

Is there anything in consumer law to say that food items should carry information on the origin of the product? That said I have been buying basa fish from Woolworths for some time and only recently tried to find out where it comes from. It would appear it is a species of catfish from the Mekong River in Vietnam. A very polluted river. I wrote to Woolworths customer service to ask where they sourced their basa to which they rep**** that they could not divulge their sources!!! I wrote back to say I was not a competitor but a concern customers. No reply. I will not be buying this fish again.
