Please train your shop assistants

I visited Woolworths Tyger Valley Financial services on Saturday 8 June 2019 regarding my card. The lady was friendly, but her hands had quite a lot of gravy or sauce on them from the food she was eating and she was licking her fingers as she came out of the door. But her hands were so soiled that she then went to fetch a serviette and started cleaning her hands, but they were so full of sauce that she struggled a while, wiping each finger. She then picked up the phone to make a call and burped and her cheeks popped out as she burped. This lady was trying to help. But she completely lacked knowing how to behave in a becoming way as a shop assistant. My heart went out to her. The reason for my review - to bring to Woolworths' attention that they should earnestly think about training their shop assistants as to how to act with good manners while serving customers, i.e. teaching them basic manners. Not everybody has the privilege of learning these manners at home. Some shop assistants are really trying their best, but they just honestly don't know of any better. And it is certainly no pleasure being served by someone who has very little knowledge about basic manners. It would empower the shop assistants to be taught this. And customers won't choose to rather leave the store because of such behaviour.
