Pinching shoes not because of size but skin of the shoes

I am a loyal customer of woolworths for a long period of time however I am very much disappointed because I bought black shoes at their store Menlyn on the 21 of September 2023, when I wear their shoes is so painful not because of their size but because of the skin of the shoes.i took the shoes back to their store for exchange or refund however the lady who was assisting said they will not take the shoes back because the shoes are not damaged only if the shoes are damaged they can take them and they will sent them back their supplier with the valid reason that their shoes are damaged and are of not good quality. The question should I stay with the shoes that I cannot wear and paid for
