Pick pocketed in store
I got pick pocketed in Woolworths Liberty Promenade on the 9th August. i had my phone with me while in the store and the next minute i felt something against me and it was gone. the moment i realised it was gone i notified one of the staff members who was really helpful and tried to check the video footage of the isle i was in, she didn't see anything and got store manager to assist me. in the time i waited for a manager to come which felt like forever and by the time he got to me the phone was obviously long gone. When he came to me all he seemed interested in was me finalising my purchase and then sorting out the ****** phone. I understand that the store was closing soon but the last thing i had on my mind was finalising the transaction for my groceries. All i wanted was for him to call my phone and check if its on and call my partner so i can be picked up as i use uber to get from one place to the next. The store manager did say he would get back to me with feedback on the rest of the video footage but i have not heard anything thus far. Looking at other reviews this seems like its a norm for things like this to happen in Woolworths stores as the stores are less populated than a picknpay/shoprite.
I just want people to be more alert and if the staff could know what process to follow in incidents like this because once something like this happens to you then you mind is not focused on your shop. All you want is for someone to help you.
I generally shop at Woolworths because i feel that the level of service is far better than other retailers but this experience has changed that view for me.
