Paying for insurance that doesn't actually insure you

I have just been told by Woolworths Insurance claims that due to the fact that I am self employed all the insurance fees I have paid timeously every month do not even cover me if I am unable to work. This is after after receiving a credit check on on application that specifically stated that I am self employed!! Never mind the fac that this is due to a worldwide virus lockdown !! No heart or even an attempt to help clients. WOW just wow!!
