Pathetic service

Tried buying something online with a gift card, then there was a "technical issue" and the gift card could not be processed. Phoned customer services and the consultant promised me that someone from the online / IT department would get back to me within 24 hours. As expected (although promised several times) this did not happen. Phoned again 24 hours later just to be told that the issue will take much longer han 24 hours to resolve and the money on my gift card will not be available to me for 7-10 workling days after this "technical issue"!! Unacceptable!! I thought Woolworths is supposed to be one of the elite South African stores, but they cannot even process an online gift card payment, and then also witholds the gift card money from the customer for 10 working days. Pathetic. (and the items I wanted to buy is on sale so will surely not be available anymore after 10 working days!) Great. Will do my best to avoid shopping at Woolworths in the future.
