Pathetic Attitude from Store Manager

The past weekend my husband son and I visited your mall of Africa branch. We did a bit of Christmas shopping for our son. So we decided to go to the food section to get something quick for supper(we spent hours at the mall). So I chucked in a packet of peppers, few bottles of coke and we were still contemplating what should we have for supper. So we decided lets just leave the stuff back, the lines were ridiculously long- we had less than 10 items. So we put everything back and walked out, but the alarm at the door went off. So the guy there says theres something that's causing it to go off, so I said oh here, its the peppers, has to be. So he said unfortunately he has to call the store manager cos even though its just a 2 pack pepper, it still went off. So fine we waited. And my husband explained we were actually getting something to eat but decided against it so he was going to leave it back-surely it cant be a big deal(the pepper was less than R20) So he decided to lash out in front of my son, says he will contact the police. And this is supposed to be a manager. So we were explaining to him AGAIN what happened and my husband who was a bit worked up now cos of the police comment, says ok, you can use my phone if you want or rather let me call the captain myself if you want(yes, we know the captain) So he asked your manager how is it possible for the pepper to trigger the alarm and the response was it happens. Still waiting at the entrance mind you, total embarrassment, and the alarm goes off again!!!! Only to figure out, your dearest cashier did not remove the metal detector from the shorts I bought from my son. The manager did not even apologies, it was an error on your staff members part. And to be treated like ********* for a packet of peppers!!!!!! Instead of checking the clothes in the first place. This is the worst shopping experience I have ever had as a Woollies client and if you pickup my account, you will see I shop at your stores quite a lot. Please retrain your management how to deal with scenarios like this. Nothing can be done about the embarrassment caused at all. Is this how you treat your customers or you just pick and choose your management however you feel fit????
