Pathetic
I had closed my Woolworths account, last year, in October of about 3 years due to affordability reasons and also ,it just seems like when a customer is in arrears ,and does not pay on time ,they are constantly being phoned and sent SMS's to pay the instalment .In my case ,I used to get paid at the end of my month and I would most times be late on payment ,however the constant calls and SMS's were ridiculous ,I felt emotionally and mentally affected and decided to close of my account .I had called in to find out if there were anything else that was required on my side and was notified that outstanding balance was paid off and the account would be closed there after. I received an SMS recently stating my account has been handed over and that I needed to activate my debit order in order to avoid further charges. I had called in ,only to find out that the account has an insurance and I am liable for a fee of R100-00 or so. I was requested to go into the store to close the account .I had also spoken to head office that advised I needed to pay this fee. Firstly ,on my side ,the account is considered closed as of October 2018.I did not receive any sort of information stating that I owed another additional fee or such .Secondly ,it is not my job to have to go into the store to close an account that should have been closed in 2018 .The money was received perfectly ,where I settled my outstanding balance and couple months later ,I am liable for another fee .This is unacceptable ,and it is just frustrating. Whether it is R100-00 or R1000-00,the fact is I was not informed off the fee ,when I called in last year ,to settle my account and to also check to see if the funds were received .It is unfair,, to a customer such as myself ,that after paying off the outstanding balance ,another additional fee has come up and was not even informed of it at the time of closure of account. This is unacceptable .
