Online purchase delivery

Yesterday I made a purchase exactly after during the night so that the person can get her gift,it didn't reach to her that that its birthday gift that was supposed she received on her birthday not after the birthday,time goes by with out her telling anything then I decided to ask her the answer was no nothing was delivered to me today at work was surprised disappointed as well,what was the point of choosing same day deliver and pay 70rand

Called Woolworths to find out the parcel was not delivered because the was a delay was not happy not called me to tell me if the parcel won't reach to her was goner cancel and do other options if I know it won't get to her order number ***
