Online order gone wrong

I recently bought Elizabeth Arden body mist 256ml online and received the product without a lid. Woolwoths is prepared to give me a 10ml to replace the order and will refund me the difference or I must return the item to the store for a refund myself. Even though this was not my mistake, I am left with the hassle of them either giving me an item that I didn't order or travel to the store myself so that I can get a refund. So what is the point of buying online if I need to leave my house to solve the problem for Woolwoths.
