Off chicken portions

I bought 12 chicken portions at Woolworths Mall of Africa in Midrand, Johannesburg on 13 January 2024. When I was cooking it the following day (14 January 2024), I realised that the meet was off and had a bad odour. I had to throw everything inside the bin. I was so disappointed😞. I have been a Woolworths customer for a long time and I have never had such a bad experience.
