Not willing to help at all .
It was my daughters birthday 13th of March 2020, she got clothes as presents, due to lockdown being implemented I was Unable to return the clothes and kept it in the present bag with its tags on so that I can or could return it as soon as we were allowed to go to the stores again, today the 07th of May 2020 I took a chance as my daughter needs clothes, I went to Cape Gate Shopping center, to get essentials, I thought while I am there I will take this little present bag with, exchange it for other clothes, if the time does not allow it I will just ask for a voucher and get her something on another day, the mall was crowded, with customers standing in queue's, I thought man, I should rather not be here, but it was important for me to sort something out for my little girl.
Woolworths Cape Gate was not that busy, so I went it ask if I can swop it around for something else or if I can maybe put it on a voucher and come back later when I arrived at the tills, it was not busy at all, but each staff member was minding their own business keeping themselves busy not looking up once, the lady at the till was called by another staff member to tell her to assist me, she then looked up and assisted me, I could see that she was not very keen on assisting me, but had to assist me, I explained the situation to her, told her that it was a present it was in wrapping ) with the tags still on, there was 2 short sleeves shirts and 1 pant.
The shop assist that was assisting me, was on her way to assist me, got the gift card ready and called for authorization, she was saying something there I could not hear what she said, the supervisor came and looked and listened to the shop assistant, the supervisor spoke to the assistant and said if there is no slip we will not be able to help him (as mentioned, the tags were still there it was in its gift bag) We were under lockdown, I can not even remember who bought it for my little girl, and two months have passed, who will still have that slip, it was a gift but it was too small. The manager then looked at me and said if you have no-slip, then We will not be able to assist you, I explained to the manager as well, she said well that the rule, the stuff was on special, so if there is no slip, then they will not be able to help me, I then asked her I thought Woolworths always puts their clients first and love to go above and beyond, But this was not an act of going above and beyond and putting your clients first, I am not sure if I will ever support Woolworths again after this level of services.
I asked the manager, what must I do now, she said well if you have no-slip then there is nothing we can do , I said well should I then just throw it away, her little present, she I wouldn't say throw it away, but there is nothing that we can do for you, I said thank you and walked away - when one pays your prices, you would expect service as well.
I did not even want the money back, I just wanted to swop it around for something that fits, that's all.
