Not-so-eco Woolies food

Woolies puts forward an eco footprint image, but try buy anything that isn't wrapped in plastic and take a look at the recycling codes. Pasta, cheese, coffee, dishwashing tabs - all in plastic 'currently not recycled'. Other items like feta cheese and any of the tubs are all rated as '5', which is Polypropylene. Only 3% of this gets recycled. My fellow Woolies junkies, you are spending most of your cash buying plastic. If you recycle, most of it ends up in landfill and very often in rivers and ultimately in the sea and as micro-plastic. Woolies is not eco friendly. If you still want to shop there, I challenge you to only buy stuff in plastic rated 1 or 2 and or stand alone items. You may come home empty handed.
