Not interested in my business?

On Thursday, 15/09/2016,I enquired about a Woolworths credit card against my better judgement.I had a credit card with Woolworths 8 years ago and was horrified to find out, after going through a gruelling process in closing that account that time back, that according to Woolworths I still had an account with them. This meant that on Thursday when I phoned to enquire about a new card, they told me that unfortunately they would need to go through a process to close the "existing" account.I had advised them while on the phone that I had been declined a card online purely because their page hadn't loaded correctly and I due to this,I had selected 'yes' instead no when questioned about debit counselling. On Friday, 16/09/2016, Woolworths called me and confirmed that the "existing" card had been cancelled however they could only go through with the application on Tuesday,20/09/2016 as I had been declined and they needed their underwriters to investigate.Well, Tuesday has come and gone and after numerous phone calls to Woolworths Financial Services and endless promises of my call being returned,I can confirm that I do not have my new credit card as promised I would receive by Friday, 23/09/2016 and I have still not received a phone call to find out where the process is.I suppose I cannot expect much from a company that is unable to follow it's own process of closing an account for 8 years....
