Not fair Marketing

I received a SMS telling me that I could claim a R200 discount on purchases of over R1000. All excited a went to Woolies Tygervalley and choose 3 tops with a retail value of R1097 and went to pay and claim my discount. The cashier gave me the bad news that the discount did not apply to the Treanery tops. I cancelled the purchase and left upset. The SMS read at the bottom "exclusions apply" Now I must know what that means. Not fair marketing for one of my favourite stores.
