No libility for pensioner fall

<p>On 2 January 2016, my father, Mr Gilbert Sham, tripped over a cord which was part of a vacuum cleaner being used by Woolworths cleaning staff. To date, neither Woolworth nor their insurers, Unison Risk Management Alliance, have accepted any form of responsibility or liability. My dad can no longer work and has permanent damage to his leg, he can no longer play bowls and has suffered not only financial but also emotionally. My father has since had to loan money to play for the medical expenses incurred.<br />According to Woolworths, on the CCTV footage which they viewed, they claim it showed that there was a sign wet floors. According to my father there was no such sign and on request to view this footage we were told it is no longer available! <br />How can a well-respected retail brand like Woolworths allow their cleaning staff to use vacuum cleaners with cords while there are still clients in the store.<br />All we want is for Woolworth to accept responsibility and pay my father his medical expenses, loss of earnings and pain and suffering.</p>
