No layby but credit purchase is welcome

I was at woolworths in pta wonderpark intending to lay by some towels as i was told at the branch in kolonade to go to wonderpark to my suprise when i had taken the towels and wanted to make the payment i was informed that layby was cancelled during lock down, but i was offered to purchase on credit. This made me angry and i was beginning to wonder what the internet behind this was? It seems to me that woolworths is trying to force customers into spending more than intended from the interests rates. In my view a purchase of R1000.00 a month is better than nothing at all. That was not the end i then went to Edgars in the same mall and enquired if i could purchase on layby and guess what the answer was the same due to the lockdown.... where is the business sence in this. When you send away a customer willing to spend 1000.00 a month for 3 months on goods! I am beyond disgusted with this
