No gesture of goodwill
I complained to the customer care department, about clementines with worms in them in May of this year. Below is the response a got, which is nice, but then I was promised a voucher a gesture of goodwill, to this day I've never received it, after following up numerous times. I really wish I could attach a photo here.
CLEMENTINES
Thank you very much for bringing your complaint to our attention. Please accept our sincere apologies for the disappointment and inconvenience caused.
Our technologist was extremely concerned to hear about the matter.
The quality and safety of all our products is Woolworths' first priority, and we appreciate it when customers take the trouble to let us know that a purchase has fallen short of our high standard.
All Woolworths produce are thoroughly inspected for the presence of worms or insects. It is unfortunate that this particular pest was not detected and the supplier will be instructed to improve their selection process.
As Woolworths pursues its quest to eliminate all artificial chemicals from its fresh produce, we rely hugely on the use of alternate measures to prevent damage to produce by pests. Our suppliers make extensive use of natural predators as well as natural barriers such as sticky stem bands to reduce the need for pesticides. The use of mating disruption techniques where the reproductive cycle is broken is also employed
You will receive a SMS in 3-5 working days which entitles you to a gift card to the value of R100 as a gesture of our goodwill. Please present this SMS together with a form of identification to your nearest Woolworths store in order to receive your gift card.
