No compassion or empathy from Woolworths for disabled customers
My wife and I shopped at the Woolworths store in the V&A Waterfront today. After paying for the items, my wife went to the @home store (with the till slip) and I took the bags to our car. When leaving the store, the store alarm went off as the lady on the till had not deactivated a tag on one of the items. I explained to the security lady that I did not have the till slip. They kept me standing there for 15 minutes while I tried to contact my wife to bring the till slip, although I told them that as I am disabled and recently had a hip replacement (they could see my walking stick) I have difficulty standing for long periods. I felt like I was being treated like a ********. The fault lay with the lady on the till for not doing her job. No compassion was shown by any of the staff involved. We shop at this store at least twice a week. I would have expected more empathy from Woolworths. Obviously there is a lack of training of their staff.
