New account declined

It's shocking how retailers work , I wasn't able to open a Woolworth account because of no credit score. Money wasn't da issue it was no credit score , how does an individual for the first time get approved for an account. I have a net income more then most people earn but woolworths will rather approve a person that can't pay the installments.
