Marked down items

There was a markdown on clothes and when I get to the till I am told the lower mark down price is only effective from the next day. The clothes were not closed off. We ask for the manager who has the worst attitude ever, she tells my sister and I that people marking the items were supposed to tell us that sale only starts next day. It is not my problem the store has no controls, I expect to pay the price reflected in the item.
