Leather jacket

I bought a “leather” jacket at Woolies Somerset Mall 3 years ago. As it was a lot of money, I only wore it to special occasions. During 3 years, I wore it about 20 times. The back of the collar is now damaged beyond repair and Woolworths says I can not return it for a new one. This is absurd as I paid almost R1000 for something that was worn 20 times ! What do I do or where do I go - I just want them to replace my jacket as it can not damage like that after a few wears - I know it’s not leather and expect SOME wear and tear but this is crazy !!!
