Jersey raw deal

A jersey was purchased last year August in Shelly Beach Woolworths. The jersey was wrapped in wrapping paper as it was a gift and put back into the Woolworths plastic bag the same day. The gift was never delivered. I took the jersey out a couple weeks ago to wear. I discovered that there was a small hole in the jersey. Thinking nothing of the hole I wore the jersey. On taking the jersey of other holes appeared in the jersey.

I took the Jersey to Woolworths Centurion on the 28 of June 2016 to complain about the jersey and the holes. I do realise that its almost a year since the purchase and wearing of the jersey BUT TO ME IT WAS STILL NEW NEVER BEEN WORN. The jersey was taken in and I was told that it would have to go for testing to the lab.

I heard nothing from them in 4 weeks. On returning to the store on 27 July the jersey was still not back.

I recieved a phone call that afternoon to tel me the results were back and that MOTHS HAD EATEN THE JERSEY. How? Was wrapped when bought the same day. where did the moths come from.

When I told the person on the other end that that is impossible as jersey was wrapped in paper and in a plastic bag. She says moths are choosey in what they eat and they got into the packet and ate through the paper and then the jersey. She says to me Woolworths will not do anything about the jersey and its my problem.

To me this is DISGUSTING SERVICE. If the moths ate the jersey it was in their store as jersey was wrapped same day in gift paper and put into the Woolworths plastic bag.

I intend taking this further and going to approach the consumer council to voice my dissatifaction at service recieved and to the local radio stations.
