Inhumane

My friend Ivy Grobler who is 63 years of age and has lived in Broadlands Apartments for over 30 years which is a block away from Rosebank Mall Jhb been collecting boxes from the Woolworths store in the mall. These boxes are necessary for her move from the apartment to her next destination.

Today I witnessed the most inhumane people, I will call them the Trolley Police (a woman and a Man) stop her from using the Woolworths trolley so that she can take the boxes to her apartment and return the trolley to Woolworths. like she diligent did each time and I am a witness to this each time she collects boxes.

Not only did they accuse her of not returning the trolley they accused her of abusing their jobs. There was no insightfulness or any empathy by even volunteering to help her carry the boxes to her apartment which is a mere block away from the mall.

We are fully aware that they have a job to do but was intended to humiliate my friend instead of being helpful or an offer of help.

It comes back to the same old story put someone in uniform they will claim they have the right to be rude even to a pensioner. Shame on them and if this is the kind of image that Woolworths wish to project, how very sad. By the way she is a regular Woolworths shopper and have been doing so for over 30 years.
