Inflexible!

I bought a pair of sandals on the Woolworths sale which aren't comfortable. I have a month in which to return them, up to 7th April. I live 2 hours drive from my nearest Woolworths branch and work full time. The soonest I can get back to Woolworths is the 8th April. I have been told that I cannot extend the return date by one day. My only alternative was to give the goods to friends visiting to return for me and collect the refund. But since I used a credit card for the purchase the refund can only be made back into that card which means giving my card to my friend and being without it until I see her again to pick it up. No one day extension allowed. No alternative refund arrangement allowed. Such inflexibility can't be good for your customer relations!
