Incorrect Credit Bureau Listing and Immediate Removal Request
I am writing to formally raise a dispute regarding the listing of my account with the credit bureau.
I was only notified on 15 October 2025 that my account was in arrears — this being the first and only communication I received regarding the matter. On that same day, I returned a missed call from your recovery team and was informed that a debit order had bounced. I immediately made payment to settle the outstanding amount in full. Please refer to your call recordings. Furthermore, I would like copies of the call recordings.
During this call, I specifically asked the consultant whether I would be listed with the credit bureau and was assured that no such listing would occur. However, despite settling the account promptly and in good faith, I have since discovered that my name was listed with the credit bureau just two days after the payment was made.
This is unacceptable and constitutes a breach of the National Credit Act (NCA), particularly with regard to proper notification and reasonable timeframes before adverse information may be reported. Section 72 and Regulation 19(4) of the NCA require that a consumer be given at least 20 business days’ written notice prior to any listing being submitted to a credit bureau. I received no such notice.
I therefore demand that this listing be immediately retracted and that written confirmation of the removal be provided to me within 7 business days. Failure to do so will leave me with no choice but to escalate this matter to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and the Credit Ombudsman for investigation.
Please treat this matter as urgent. I have acted promptly and responsibly, and the current listing is both unfair and ********.
