My mother passed away in March 2016. The normal process followed freezing, settling and closing her accounts / debt.

I submitted a claim to WFS and spoke with a lady to confirm the claim amount. (Name will be given on request). Her words were 'natural death claim amount is R10 000 and unnatural death is R5000.00'. In this case, I submitted a claim for unnatural death. When the payment was done, I noticed only R2500.00 was paid. When I queried this, the response was that this is how it is for unnatural death. This last email was received on 25 August 2016 and since then I have sent 3 emails querying the sudden difference in the claim amount, all 3 being flat ignored.

I asked for documentation to prove the unnatural claim amount of only R2500.00 and where my mother's signature has been made of aknowledgement of this, but this is also being ignored.

Does WFS not know their own claim standards and procedures or does everyone there have their own opinion of running the business? I am also a client of WFS and sure as h@ll going to close my account. I hope that my loved ones don't have to go through the same fight should something happen to me and they need to claim.

It was rough enough having to go through dealing with her death and now I have to face this fight too.

Pathetic man! This reminds me of buying a car, the service is all there, but when the job has been done, service does not exist. Why should it?
