*********** CUSTOMER SERVICE
I wished to exchange a pair of pants in the Ladies Dept of Hillcrest Corner yesterday (17.2.20). When the assistant took out the pair of pants she noticed a small dirty mark on the belt loop. She called over the male supervisor, who had been lounging in his chair chatting to an acquaintance for the past 15 minutes. I had the Woolworths packet, till slip, and price tag still on the item. I had tried it on in my bedroom (carpeted floor, bare feet) and immediately folded it back up and put it into the packet to bring back and exchange. Just a note here, while I was waiting in the line to be served, the lady in front of me asked me to look at a pair of shoes she was wanting to buy. She asked me if that was a dirty mark on the shoe and I said yes, so she went and changed them for a clean pair. Back to the Customer Service gentleman (and I use that term loosely). He said that they couldn't exchange the pants because of the tiny smudge, which in all likelihood was on the pants when I bought them. He also then accused me of tearing the price off the tag, and that also was a reason why I couldn't return the pants. Clearly this man is unaware of what is happening in his department. I had spent a very frustrating time prior to this, and when I purchased the original trousers, trying to find prices on the price tags, but on the majority of the tags they had been removed!!! Maybe he thinks I slunk around the clothes tearing them off all those too! Such a pity Woollie's service is dropping to the standard of Mr Price, Pep etc. So disappointed in the level of customer service. They should perhaps train their staff with customer service s****s, and how to handle situations competently and professionally.
