Ignoring a query on a process that is unaceptable
I visited Woolworths Seadoone Mall today for some purchases. I provided my Woolworths account card for payment of the purchases to the cashier. On completion of the transaction she advised me that I did not need to sign and I could go. I found this rather strange and queried her by asking her how this was possible. I had not signed for the purchases nor provided a pin number to validate the transaction so how did she know that the person using the relevant card was in fact the true account holder? No response. I queried whether procedures had changed still no reply. By now she had started a frantic search for who knows what. I asked for a third time whether procedures had changed or not when a pen was produced which she seemed to have scratched out and discovered in a pencil bag at a counter behind her. I asked again whether procedures had changed to which she finally said no they had not. I asked her how it was possible that she could tell me I did not need to sign and that I could go, She then rep**** that she did not have a pen. I asked to see the Manager who was on the phone behind her on what sounded like a personal call. I eventually left as I could not wait any longer .
