If the shoe fits
On Tuesday 12th September I found a pair of Trenery sandals at the Rosebank store that I wanted to buy (Navy Bue slides with a tan leather inner sole). Due to one of the shoes in the pair being on display, the inner sole was a different colour from the shoe in the box. It was the only 36 and I could not take it. I was told that Hyde Park had a pair so I went there, only to find the exact same issue. They have 1 pair of size 36 and 1 of the shoes (the right one) is the display item and is discoloured by the lights. So they called Sandton and I specifically asked that they check the shoes had NOT been on display. They assure me the pair in the box is in the correct condition. I go to the Sandton stand-alone CR/Trenery store yesterday (14th September) and guess what? Same problem. They tell me the main Sandton store has a pair and off I go...only to find the very same issue AGAIN! Now at my wits end, I ask the lady there how they can expect customers to pay R699.00 for discoloured/mismatched shoes. She tells me they probably won't sell them and they'll be sent to "the waste". So if you're a size 36 (particularly in sandals) unlucky for you! The logic of the situation escapes me completely - to ruin the right shoe of a pair in the same size in every store with no alternative plan and no other pairs to offer the customers? Woolies - you are my go to store for everything and for everyone in my family. I am so frustrated and disappointed by this recent experience, as it is not of the Woolies standard that I expect and am used to. Let's see if Feli from Sandton can track me down a pair that hasn't been under the lights!
