I was a Woolworth's fan

On the 26 June 2017 I went in to Woolworth's Menlyn to pay off my account and to close my account. It took more then 15 min for the lady that helped me to get hold of customer service to get the settlement amount but she was friendly and very apologetic so it was not a problem. So I paid the outstanding amount and then we had to phone again so that I could speak to customer service directly to close my account. All was fine, it is the process that you have to follow. I close my account and asked for a reference number in case I need to phone them to get my Closure letter as it was promised with in 48 hrs. So after a week of not receiving my Closure Letter I phoned customer service and was told that I could not close my account as the amount of R15.40 for my card insurance for July is still outstanding. And this is the problem - how can they give me a reference number for a Closure letter and not close my account? The answer I got from the friendly customer service person was to go back to Menlyn store and explain to them that I am upset with them and close my account then. But is that not what I did on the 26th of June? So eager to help when you want to open an account but not so eager when you did everything to close your account.
