I agree, Woolies HAS become mediocre

Very disappointed with the feedback I received regarding Woolworths food products, the feedback received did not correspond to the product disorder/observation reported. I reported that the burger pie, though pricy is made with cheap unhealthy processed meat but the feedback I got was based on how much Woolies prides itself on it's favour profile nothing was mentioned about why their product lacked quality wholesome & healthy ingredients that it commands the price for. We as consumers pay a high price for Woolies products for which we expect quality and not cheap unhealthy processed/soya meat disguised as beef. Their beef burgers are also very, very fatty and shrink substantially after it's cooked. My other purchases included the chocolate cake for which water is substituted instead of adding milk/buttermilk and butter (yes, we can taste the difference in the down grading of your ingredients) which gives it a dry consistancy instead of the moist decadence as well as the skimpy use of fresh cream on the fresh cream swiss roll and the double layer fresh cream sponge cake. The tin roof ice cream has hardly any chocolate syrup and there are barely any almond slivers, the ice-cream is watered down that it barely resembles any form of cream. There is not need to produce a bar code, sell by date or batch number for my observations of Woolies' ploy to cut costs, if Woolies is really serious about the quality of their products and the satisfaction of their customers and if this not a deliberate stint to use cheap substitute & poor quality ingredients to cut costs and maximise their profits, they would randomly sample the products that I've mentioned here as this decline in Woolies quality is an ongoing problem that is experience at all Woolies stores and is not related to the freshness & flavour of their products but more so the use or lack thereof, of quality wholesome original, real ingredients, I'm therefore now starting to believe that this low budget quality of their products is the new level that Woolies has sunk to in order to combat rising costs and maintaining a much higher profit margin. Us consumers do not mind paying for quality but of late the price of Woolies products does not equate to the quality of their products.
