Good evening,
I’d like to report an incident that just took place at Woolworths Gateway 19 December 2020 at around 15:30. As we were shopping my son aged 6 tripped over and fell in what looked like blue liquid soap spraining the hand he used to balance and complains of sore ankle. Had he not balance with his hand he would’ve hit his head. I went and asked for the floor manager and a gentleman named Rakesh came over. He could not answer as to why the liquid was on the floor. It seemed that someone just placed a crate next to the mess, didn’t bother cleaning it up or placing a cation sign. When I asked “what now”, I was told that I’m welcome to log a complaint with head office. I was told the same by Zolani who then offered to take down my details. I further asked if Rakesh can offer a change in pants as my son’s pants were soaked in liquid soap of which he could not assist with either. My son is quiet upset and embarrassed that he now has to walk around in wet pants. I shop at Woolworths because I expect a professionalism from staff and a safe environment for my family, this is extremely unacceptable. In the event of such an incident what is the in store set procedure? Since my son is complaining about an aching wrist and ankle this is now my responsibility to attend to all because of Woolworths’s negligence, unacceptable!! Dissatisfied Customer Sifiso Hlongwane
