Heavily disappointed Woolworths Financial Services customer

Woolworths Financial Services are a complete *******. I called their call center early June to request a settlement balance on my personal loan facility. I was told to call after the statement closes on 14th June. This was a Saturday and with 16th being a public holiday the call centre Customer care agent on the 14th advised that I must call back on the the 17th. I duly did so requesting a settlement letter. I received my settlement letter with validity for for 5 days and settlement balances for the 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd June. I was also told after the statement settlemwntvis made, I should call in for a closure request and paid up letter. Settlement was made from my Absa Bank account and the loan was settled on the 19th with the balance advised by WFS settlement letter valid for the 19th June. It was paid to the cent. Unfortunately my debit order that was loaded also went off. WFS therefore had the loan fully settled and was sitting with a credit balance that is due back to me. I find myself running in circles trying to get my refund done and loan closed off. I have made repetitive calls to the call centre and even visited a WFS office at the Sandton Woolworths store and they took a copy of my ID and confirmation of my bank details to get my refund requested with the finance team. Thereafter, they advised that my account can be closed. I find it astounding that the options I put on the table could not be executed - this included 1) transferring my credit amount to my woolworths store account 2) get the store to give me a gift voucher for my credit amount 3) arrange for an immediate refunds 4)allow me to draw my credit amount using the Woolworths application that allows withdrawals from the loan account. Unfortunately the call centre agent named Tiffany advised that a refund is the best option and will take 2-4 days at best but can take up to 7 days. I demanded that a team leader or manager calls me. I left the store and got a team leader from the call centre that called me advising that Unfortunately I was misinformed. My refund cannot be closed and the account cannot be settled until the statement closes on the 13th July. I am baffled by this. Why wait until the 13th July? I don't owe Woolworths anything. In fact Woolworths owes me interest for my credit balance. This is a complete **** and sham. Woolworths must stick to retail store accounts and not personal loans. What's equally astounding is that their team leader insists that nothing can be done even if I choose to escalate as high as I want to and I found this utterly arrogant. One can feel so helpless being put from pillar to post and having inconsistent feedback repeatedly. Totally disrespectful from a client service perspective. Senior management are not even accessible to help override this situation. Anyone wanting to close accounts with this provider is a complete sitting duck at the mercy of their illogical bureaucracy and can't do attitude. They must leave banking products to banks of they cannot manage simple closure and paid up processes.
