TO WHOM THIS MAY CONCERN :
On the 4th of September 2021 at about 12:15 i was at your story doing my weekly shopping.
While your store was busy as usual a lady started a conversation with her friend in the middle of one of your ailes blockling anyone or anything from coming through(please take note that this is while COVID-19 protocols are in place) We were blocked from moving forward, any logical person would take note of the fact, i said "can you please move out the F####ing way"
Apparently this did not sit lightly with the person, as she looked for me and my girlfriend a few moments later in your store and started to verbally harass and insult me expecting a response. Obviously she got the response she was looking for.
I realised the situation, and went to your store manager on site and asked him to assist in the situation. It seems he was more inclined to take sides with the other person because I had a raised voice and used swear words. Because i have different personality and when i get frustrated my voice raise and i show emotion in my voice, it was assumed by your store manager im the aggressor just because i used a swear word for this lady to move out the aisle while blocking it. Your store manager tried getting me out of the store, because I'm the upset one and show emotion and use the f word. But the lady insulting and going on, was allowed to continue being in the quee
Even while she was in the aisle she still turned around and made a scene with all customers around that i am in the wrong instead of the situation dying down. She turned around and said stuff to my girlfriend who was in the queue as well. While she left the store and me still talking to your manager her husband came up to me, in a very threatening stance telling me i need to apologise to his wife or else(he was not in the store while the whole situation transpired, and was "told" only her side) Kept on telling me to move outside so we can have a talk, i said to him if he touches me, i will sue him. Your store manager instantly told me, now i'm threatening the husband, but said nothing to the guy when he threatened me with physical violence
A bystander came to the rescue of the store manager to deescalate the situation, but the husband insisted I apologize to the wife. I will not apologize for asking her to get out the F###ing way when she is blocking a full aisle in COVID-19 protocols for a chit chat. They eventually left the store, i was waiting for the store manager to provide me with the email address. My girlfriend came up to me to say we forgot the cards in the car, gave her the keys to go and fetch it. As she exited the building, this lady and her husband followed her all the way to her car and kept on harassing her and saying things to her.
As I explained to your store manager, using the F word means nothing, we all have different dialegs and forms of communication. If this lady is offended by it, to come and harass me and my girlfriend and keep on harassing me, in your store, getting her husband in to physcially intimitade me and threaten me in the presence of your store manager while he stood by, and still said i'm in the wrong, because of a swear word, and voicing with emotion - that's not on.
F word is a form of expression and is allowed under free speech. But i'm told its wrong from your manager, but what he deemed okay was :being harassed in a public space inside a store and when try to get assistance from the store manager the situation doesn't get resolved and the lady is allowed to escalate the situations with physical threats,\
This lady is the type of person that waits for a tiny bit of conflict and explodes it into something much larger, as how dare someone younger than her be allowed to talk to her in that manner or whatever instance. Your store manager kept on implying im in the wrong while she could continue on, as stated earlier, even escalating the situation.
I was told I'm unintelligible and shouldn't bring my personal problems to the store. While the aggressor was asked nicely to finish up the shopping, explaining to everyone around her how i am such a bad person and in the wrong.
I provided an exact date and time of the altercation
I await your swift response regarding the above situation.
Best Regards. Jeandre van der Merwe
