Glass in woolies toddler meal

I purchased a woollies toddler meal on Sunday from Woolworths at Benmore centre in Sandton. As my 2 year old was eating the meal, I heard a crunching sound and opened her mouth to pull out the contents. I discovered 2 large cubes of glass.

This is a massive safety risk and the life of my child was endangered due a lack of quality control on the part of Woolworths. My child seems to be fine and I’m hoping I was quick enough to remove all the glass from her mouth but am taking her to the paediatrician today to conduct a full check. What is worrisome is how many other children are at risk and how many other meals pose this risk.

I emailed Woolworths on Sunday night and have received no response from them.

Woolworths needs to be made accountable for their lax QC on their products, especially given they are a brand that promises quality which we pay a premium for.

Woolworths must be held accountable for this and other consumers should be made aware of the risk.
