I have an existing loan with Woolworths which is paid up and I have never missed a payment on this account. In the beginning of May I app**** for a credit increase, I was asked for my nett income and if I had extra income to which I provided the amounts. The consultant advised me to send my 3months payslip and bank statement reflecting extra income. After submiting the documents I am told that I needed to also submit bank statement of where I receive my salary, this was so annoying as the agent did not mention this and I had to go again to the bank. I submitted all the documents and highlighted that I was on maternity leave for 6 months ( October 2015-March 2016), the 4 months( Oct-Jan) I got 75% from my employer and 25% from UIF which still gives me 100% of my income. The last 2 months(Feb-Mar) was annual and unpaid leave. I also attched my payslip for May to support my case. March I did not get paid my salary as it was unpaid leave but UIF paid my full maternity leave claim. I did not get any feedback whether it was declined or approved. When I called I was told that I do not qualify due to affordability amounts of R1000 and R2000 are being mentioned but I have no idea where they are coming from. I am being given reasons that its the system that rejected so I want to understand this sytem is it not being controlled by a person. I logged a complaint with Akhona Donie on the 10th and still awaiting feedback, her manager refused to take my call.

Today I called the limit increase department and tried to explain to the agent and he did not even try to help, I requested to speak to a manager and was told he is off and that is just how it is, the call centre was very noisy and when I highlighted this he asked me if I have ever worked in a call centre. The consultant transfered me to switchboard(customercare) and they transferred me back to limit increase no sense of ownership at all.

So this what I want to understand if I have been employed with the same company for almost 4 years and got 75% from employer and 25% from UIF, only have one account that I am paying how do I not qualify? Why am I being punished for being a woman and bearing children? Why should I be made to feel guilty that I took 6months maternity leave to take care of my newborn? Would a man ever experience such treatment? In 2016 should one still experience gendre inequality how sad and disappointing this is the last thing that I expected from Woolworths with it priding itself with its quality products and service.

I called from *** please pull the recordings and tell me if you are happy with the service you render.

loan account no: ***.

Contact: ***

Mrs B Nevondo
