Fragrance Complaint

Hi there I purchased a fragrance from you guys as a gift for someone. After opening it and literally spraying only ONCE, he found that its too sweet. I am now told at the store that because it was opened I cannot exchange it for something else. How is that man? I mean the fragrances are not cheap! money down the drain. Also, i have checked and i could probably have missed it but nowhere in your return policy does it state that one cannot return fragrances. I would understand if it was a lipstick or something intimate like that. I am really not impressed with this. And to top it all the apparent beauty assistant was was flipper ****y about it.
