Failing to Remove Adverse Listing from Credit Bureaus

My Woolworths store card was handed over to MBD in March.

On the 29th of April, I made a large payment of R10'000 towards my account, which was done on the Woolworths app.

I had assumed that by now my credit report would be updated, only to see this morning that my account still reflects as "handed over". Despite reflecting as "handed over", I can clearly see that an update was submitted to Experian by Woolworths on the 16th of May. Why was the account not removed as being flagged as "handed over" when this update was submitted on the 16th of May? Why have you indicated that the account is still handed over??

I called Woolworths Financial Services this morning to query this, and spoke to Jessica. She advised me that the reason why the adverse listing wasn't removed from my credit report on the 16th of May when the update was done, is because the turnaround time of 21 working days had not yet passed at that time, and I was told that I need to wait until the 7th - 16th of June for my report to be updated and the adverse listing to be removed. This does not make sense. You can clearly see on my credit report, that Woolworths received my payment on the 29th of April - so why was the adverse listing not removed?

According to the consumer protection act, lenders have 7 working days to update my profile with the credit bureaus, and the credit bureaus then have 7 working days to update my account on their side. This means, that after 14 working days the adverse listing should have been removed from my credit profile.

14 working days surpassed on Tuesday this week.

Please have my adverse listing removed from my credit report with all bureaus by no later than Wednesday, 27 May. Failing which I will take matters further and escalate this and report this to the relevant parties.

I paid more than double the overdue amount that was due on my account, out of good faith. I expected the same level of service from Woolworths, which I have not gotten, which has left me nothing short of disappointed and disgusted.
