Don't take our money if you can't deliver the service

Hello Peter,

I'm very disgusted with the service I received from their Woolworths Senior Manager at the V&A Waterfront this morning. Yesterday I went to Woolworths Tygervalley to go pay my account so I can shop during the 50% sale that started this morning. The payment was made, account up-to-date and received a receipt stating I had credit available to use.

This morning I went to Woolworths V&A Waterfront to shop and when I was paying with my Woolworths card, I was told the sale could not go through, which was surprising. They cashier called the Supervisor and he enquired with Head Office what was happening. I was then told that my account was handed over to Debt collectors and that my name is no longer on the Woolworths system. I called the Senior Manager to discuss this, I showed him the receipt I received the previous day, clearly stating that I have CREDIT AVAILABLE. He told me that he can't do anything about the situation, once the account is handed over then I can no longer deal with them. My biggest question which I asked this Senior Manager was why was I not told about this when I paid? Surely if I'm not on the system, then they shouldn't have taken payment from me, let alone lie to me and say I have credit avaialble. The Senior Manager had nothing to say except that they can't help me. He advised that I SHOULD CALL their debt collectors and request the account to be handed back to them? Since when am I debt collector negotiator, I'm a Woolworths Client, I must deal with Woolworths. When my account is up to date, Woolworths and Debt Collector must communicate and clear my account.

As if this was not enough, I asked asked them, when I call their debt collectors and this account is handed back to them (after 5 working days), will this credit be avaibale, Senior Manager confirms YES it will be. I offer him an alternative solution and say I'll take my goods cash, then after 5 days I'll return them to be taken through my account, he says no I can't do that. Why? "No, too many variables, against policy". What does "too many variables" even mean? Do you tell me a Senior Store Manager at the V&A Waterfront (a flagship store) cannot deal with too many variables? Absolutely shocking!
