Disgusted!!!

I handed in a cellphone for repairs on 23/04/2016 which is within the warranty period. I was never told nor signed to pay any repair-service charge due to being within the warranty period. I was called recently & advised my cellphone is "water-damaged" & beyond repairs. I went into the store yesterday to collect my phone & query this damage report...firstly my phone & the accessories could not be found...wasting my time standing there....the consultant called her colleague who was off-duty, & had a conversation in a language I do not understand. Secondly I was told I need to now pay R 350...the reason for which was not explained. My question is firstly how can my phone be "water damaged" when it was never near any liquid ever? I am a single-mother & purchase my items cash....why would I not be careful to take care of my items then?? This is 1 of three cellphones I use, which is the least used & is the least exposed. My reasoning perhaps of this “water damage” could be moisture due to the air…not my fault as I do not control the climate. Why should I pay R 350 for my salvage 1. when this was never disclosed to me ever, 2. when my phone is beyond "repairs" & 3. when my phone is within the warranty period?? I am an attorney candidate...trust me this is going to the NCR & Consumer Council & all over social media. I am disgusted that Woolworths employs such staff, & this is ***** in my opinion. My salvage is being withheld *******ly.
