Disappointment in my favorite retailer
Good day.
The email below was also sent to Woolworth's customer care on Tuesday 12 May, to date no response.
I would like to bring to your attention how upset and disappointed I am in the way I was treated at one of your branches on Sunday. I went to Woolworths food store in Nelspruit Crossings with my 7 year old daughter in my care at the time. We were both following the national regulations regarding wearing a mask, sanitizing our hands etc. How ever we were refused entry to the store. There is no notice stating the refusal of children to your stores posted anywhere! I asked to speak to the store manager and the gentleman stated that NO children are permitted. He then told me (in a very uncaring manner) to rather go to another grocery store (Spar) instead where children indeed are permitted. The last newsletter and your app makes no mention that children are not allowed. It is not encouraged, but if one has no option? What are we supposed to do? Shopping online for essentials is also not an option at the moment because of long waiting periods for delivery? My family has been a long standing Woolworths customers and I have to say that I have been disappointed with the level of service at the moment. I have also been struggling with my new Woolworths credit card and on multiple occasions have been left red faced at your stores. As was the situation on Sunday where myself and my daughter were treated like we were the origin of Covid19. I am a Level 4 permitted worker and am healthy and infection free and my daughter hasn’t left the house in over 8 weeks. For this to be her first out of house experience was both traumatizing and embarrassing. I needed to bring the situation to your attention because this is not the treatment I expect from your Company. In future, if you impose such regulations on your own (not in government regulations) you need to notify your patrons properly. These times are scary and confusing enough for our children without them being handled in this manner. I was in your clothing store during the week where I had to purchase winter sleepwear for my children and saw multiple children there? How would such a policy differ from store to store? Please clarify the logic behind this discrepancy and **************? I await your response.
Regards
