Did the Woolworths experience got lost with online orders?
Yesterday, I bought two tubs of 500g Blueberries on Woolworths' App and the payment for the two 500g tubs went through. When it was delivered, I received two 180g tubs. I immediately phoned and was told they will correct it. I insisted that they bring me the goods I paid for and take back the smaller tubs, as it was only 15h19. I was told that they could not get hold of the store and that they will only be able to exchange it today. Today, I phoned again and was told to hold on and was then disconected. She had my order number and cell number, but she did not call me back. I called twice more, but the menu to select Dash is broken. Nobody called me or tried to exchange the incorrectly delivered 180g tubs with the 500g tubs I paid for. This is not the Woolworths experience we came to love and trust. We forgave Woolworths for many things during lock down, but what is the excuse now? I am normally one of the 11 dissatisfied Woolworths customers that do not complain, but this is too much. I feel cheated. Gone are the days that Woolworths took back a frog that ended up in a customer's salad, to where it came from. What happened to going the extra mile? What happened to just giving you what you paid for?
I sent some emails today, Monday 27th March, and got a replay. They informed that a refund was processed on the 24th. I checked and it showed on the 25th.
No explanation of why they chose to ignore my request to supply the goods I paid for. No explanation why I did not get the goods I paid for in the first place. No explanation of why Woolworths could not get stock in 4 days to give me what I paid for. No explanation of how they scanned the 500g tubs through the POS, but sent me the 180g tubs. No explanation of why they never informed me that they were not going to honour my request to deliver the 500g tubs. No explanation of why they **** to me when they fetched the 180g tubs, that they will bring the 500g tubs "shortly". No explanation of why I had to send two emails to get any response after almost a week. I feel sad that Woolworths is no longer concerned with the customer's experience it built its brand on.
I feel that it is too much effort to shop with them and in future, I will only do so if I need something that I can not find anywhere else. Even then, I will check my invoice carefully. I feel I can no longer trust Woolworths. I note that Woolworths has not bothered to reply to any of these posts.
From a customer (mostly ex-customer) that used to champion Woolworths' values to all that would listen. Sadly, it seems those values are no longer part of the Woolworths' culture.
